Bully Awareness and Prevention
Bullying occurs on a daily basis, beginning from young childhood through adulthood. The outlets to bully others have grown over the years. From limited time exposure during school, to persistent access through the use of technology. It is imperative that we continue to spread awareness that bullying can negatively impact a student’s education, physical and emotional health, their safety and well-being. The outcome of bullying is never positive and can even lead to death in some cases. Those who bully are at increased risk for substance use, academic problems, and experiencing violence later in adolescence and adulthood. “David’s Law” requires school districts to include cyberbullying in their district bullying policies and notify a child’s parents if he or she is a victim or alleged aggressor of bullying.
Remind students that they have a voice and access to report bullying on their school website!
